A RUNCORN man has run the Liverpool Half Marathon to thank staff at Halton Haven for caring for his dad.

Ken Wilson, aged 51, and Rob Nelson, aged 47, both from Weston Village, raised £1,201 for the hospice.

Ken said: “My dad had his last few weeks at the haven and I was so impressed with the care and compassion of the staff and the cheerfulness of the haven in what was a very difficult time for my family and friends.

“We know lots of people who have been cared for at the haven and the help they have given to their families.”

Rob said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all our family, friends and colleagues who have been so generous with their donations, support and encouragement.”

Rob completed the run in 1.37.50, with Ken close behind at 2.01.27 on March 23.

They wish to thank customers at The Royal Oak and The Roundhouse in Weston Village, management and staff at NHS Supplies in Astmoor and staff at Booths of Ditton.
