Severe congestion on Runcorn Widnes bridge following a collision
A SERIOUS accident has caused severe congestion on the approach to the Silver Jubilee bridge.
An air ambulance was called after a collision between a motorbike and a lorry shortly after 4pm.
Slip roads from Widnes have been shut but the bridge is still open.
Drivers are reporting long delays.
Weston Point slip towards Clifton is shut so drivers will have to find alternative routes to the M56.
The Bridgewater Expressway has re-opened.
Motorists advised to avoid the area if possible.
Anyone with information about the collision can call Cheshire Police in 101.
