FAMILIES can explore the natural world on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5 with a day of wildlife wonders at Norton Priory from 11am to 4pm.

Children can have a go at pond dipping, make and decorate a sweep net to search for minibeasts, learn about mammals, test your birds knowledge and explore different habitats.

Learning and community manager Susan Humphreys said: “Norton Priory is a great place for getting up close to nature. We have 40 acres of beautiful gardens and woodlands.

“Children can seek out squishy slugs, scurrying spiders, and lovely ladybirds with their superb sweep net. There’ll be a worm charming competition and they can discover what is lurking in our ponds, water beetles, snails or water scorpions.”

The Great Outdoors event, from 11am to 4pm, is suitable for children of all ages with timed activity workshops throughout the day.

Normal admission prices apply.
