ANYONE hoping to apply online for senior jobs at Cheshire Police was delayed, after its website crashed due to ‘technical difficulties’.
The website suffered a 'server problem' and was down for more than seven hours. It is now live again.
Applications opened on Monday for a programme offering a fast track route to becoming an inspector with the force.
A warning sign on cheshire.police.uk was posted to say it is ‘under maintenance’.
Cheshire Police said on Twitter it was ‘working to fix these issues’.
In another tweet, it added: “For anyone wishing to apply for the fast track scheme: the job app will be available on the website as soon as technical issues are resolved.”
A large amount of interest was expected in the fast track programme.
The application window is open until Sunday, May 11.
