POLICE are appealing for information after a bin was deliberately set on fire at the back of a Widnes shop.
Firefighters tackled the blaze in Albert Square shortly before 9pm last night.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A bin that had deliberately been set on fire in a loading bay at the rear of a shop caused smoke to enter a premises. Firefighters ventilated the area after extinguished the bin using a hose reel.”
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
