A WIDNES student is appealing for help after thieves stole two bikes.

Joshua Appleton, aged 16, left the locked bikes in Victoria Park, Fairfield Road, whilst he went to the fair with his girlfriend.

Riverside College electrician student, Joshua, of Kennington Park, said: “I secured both bikes with a security lock and wound it three times round a post next to the cafe.

“We weren’t even an hour. When we came back, they were gone. I use the bike to cycle to college.”

He is appealing to anyone who may have seen the bikes, a BMX diamond back with silver body and purple handlebars and a red and white mountain bike, to get in touch.

One of the bikes belonged to his 56-year-old dad, Paul.

The bikes were stolen on Tuesday, April 15 at around 5pm.
