Halton Council is a looking for the planners, engineers and other staff who helped turn Professor Arthur Ling's New Town Masterplan into a reality.

Staff who worked for the former Runcorn Development Corporation are invited to a special open evening at a public exhibition being held to mark 50 years of Runcorn New Town.

The reunion is being held between 4pm and 6.30pm on Friday, April 25 at Halton Lea Library.

Carol Davenport, a former town planner with the Development Corporation, said: "When I read about the 50th anniversary, I thought it would be great chance for old friends and colleagues to meet up. People came from all over the country to work for the Development Corporation and many will have lost contact. Meeting in the exhibition at the library, with models and photographs on display, will really help relive memories.”
