Runcorn and Widnes World: Support groups offer help to people with hearing loss Support groups offer help to people with hearing loss

A CHARITY is offering practical help and support to people with hearing loss and tinnitus.

The Deafness Resource Centre runs a self-help group for people born with hearing loss or anyone who may have developed problems.

Sessions are held on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of every month, from 1.30pm to 3pm, at Hanover Court, Palacefields Avenue, Brookvale, Runcorn WA7 6EJ.

The next get-together is on Wednesday, April 16.

A tinnitus support group alternates monthly between Runcorn and Widnes.

Tinnitus is not a disease or an illness. Most people say they have a ringing sound in one ear, both ears or in the middle of the head. The noise may be low, medium or high-pitched.

The next meeting of the tinnitus support group is on Thursday, May 1, from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Hanover Court at the above address.

The group will meet in Widnes at Runnymede Court, William Street WA8 6RN on Thursday, June 5.
