A RUNCORN MP has completed the London Marathon, achieving a new personal record.

It is the third time Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans has pounded through the streets of London.

He joined 36,000 runners yesterday and finished in four hours, 43 minutes and 56 seconds.

He is raising money for Halton Haven Hospice.

Graham said: “I am delighted to have beaten my personal best, coming in six minutes faster than last year, especially given this is my first marathon in my fifties.

“The London Marathon is such a fantastic race, with an amazing atmosphere. But the most important thing about the race is how it draws funding and raises awareness for so many important charities.

“Halton Haven Hospice provides specialist palliative care and emotional support for patients and their families and I very pleased by the support show by so many constituents for this fantastic organisation.”
