A LADIES race day with a difference has raised more than £850 for three local charities.
The Mayor of Halton, Clr Margaret Ratcliffe invited people to join her to watch live racing from Ladies Day at Aintree on at the Select Stadium.
She said: “It was marvellous. We had a great afternoon.
“Everyone enjoyed getting dressed up “We had canapes when we arrived and tea and cakes.
“It is the first time we have tried this event. I hope it will be my legacy to carry on in future years.”
All proceeds will be shared between the Mayor’s three local charities, The Cancer Patient Support Fund at Halton Hospital, Halton Entertainment Art Regional Theatre School, and The Canal Boat Adventure Project.
