HALTON residents are being asked to help set a new Red Cross record.

The charity set a new fundraising record of more than £1.1 million last year and says their urgent support is needed now more than ever.

This years Red Cross Week takes place from May 4-11 and it is hoped fundraisers across Cheshire and Greater Merseyside will dig deep and help them reach a regional target of £50,000.

Clare McManmon, senior community fundraiser with the British Red Cross said: “We always get fantastic support from the public. “We love hearing all the different ways people are planning on raising money.

“This year we have a virtual pet competition, lots of fun runners and one of our shop volunteers is even shaving her head! No amount raised is too small as every penny really does make a huge difference.”

Anyone who registers to fundraise for Red Cross Week will receive lots of help and advice from the fundraising team, plus materials and items to make your ideas really come to life.
