A RUNCORN mum wants to thank everyone who supported her Down’s Syndrome awareness day.

Mum-of-four Maria Dimelow took her 13-month-old daughter Amelia, who has the condition, into Windmill Hill Primary School to introduce her to pupils.

She organised a coffee morning and raised £800.

Maria, aged 41, of Windmill Hill, said: “I would like to thank my friends and family, without whom the day wouldn’t have been a success.

“I am also grateful to teachers and chilidren at Windmill Hill Primary School and nursery for doing an odd sock day.”

She wants to thank Karen’s Cake Creation, Asda Runcorn, Craig O’Connell and staff at Morrisons and everyone who donated raffle prizes.

Amelia was only diagnosed when she was five-months-old.

Maria has donated £520 to Down’s Syndrome Liverpool, the local group she attends, and £280 to the Down’s Syndrome Association.
