A RUNCORN mum who was mugged as she pushed her baby in a pram has spoken about her terrifying ordeal.

The 29-year-old victim says the attack has left her feeling nervous and angry.

A robber on a mountain bike snatched her handbag, causing her to stumble and knock her pram.

The mum-of-four, who does not wish to be named, said: “My daughter loves to look at the birds and the trees. We were just chattering away when this fellah came out on his bike. I moved to make sure he could get by and then felt him shove me at the back of my shoulder.

“As I was pushed, it knocked me and the pram tipped. It was a horrible feeling.

“I could have been hurt and my daughter could have been hurt.

“I think it’s disgusting that anyone can do this. I had my baby with me. I feel angry.”

The robber fled with some loose change and her white Samsung mobile phone containing more than 600 sentimental family photographs.

The woman, who has two sons and two daughters, said: “I just want my photos back more than anything. I use my camera every day to take pictures of my children.

“Photographs are everything to me.”

The assault happened as she was walking near Rothesay Close in Castlefields, at 2.30pm on Friday, March 21.

The woman added: “I’m a really outgoing person but this has made me feel like I want to go into a shell.

“I enjoy going on a nice walk with the children. This has made me nervous.

“I will be wary of everything. It will always be on my mind.

“It might have been quick and we might not have been hurt but it was still very scary.

“I wouldn’t want anyone else going through this.”

DC Marc Robert said: “We’re doing everything we can to find this offender but we need assistance from the public. This was a particularly nasty attack. “ Anyone who finds a small black leather handbag with a large silver buckle on the front or a Samsung phone is urged to contact the police.

The offender is described as a white male, in his late 20’s, 6ft tall, and of a slim build. He was wearing a black jacket and jeans. He was riding a black mountain bike with an orange bottle holder.

Anyone with information can call Cheshire Police on 101.
