A TRAINEE hairdresser has reached the semi-final of a reality TV show.
Runcorn mum-of-two Katie Crompton is in the final four, hoping to be crowned the best British amateur hair stylist in the BBC Three TV competition, ‘Hair’.
She said she is loving every minute of the stressful knockout contest.
Katie, aged 30, a student at Riverside College, said:”It’s been brilliant. I didn’t realise how well I worked under pressure.
“I’ve learnt loads, especially from feedback from the judges.”
Katie, from Halton Village, has a fashion degree and spent five years designing sportswear for Reebok.
She has to create imaginative Mohekin designs in tonight's heat at 9pm.
Katie, who has two daughters, Daisy, aged four, and Poppy, aged two, travels to London every week.
She added: “I’m quite a shy person so it’s strange seeing myself on the telly.
“It has boosted my confidence. I’d now love to do something that uses all my skills.”
