A GIFTED Runcorn singer has been invited to perform with classically trained Welsh baritone Rhydian Roberts at his concert at The Brindley on Friday, May 2.

Allessandria Sivori, aged 21, from Weston Point was selected from more than 10,000 entrants to get through to the final 20 in the Open Mic UK competition.

Former Wade Deacon pupil, Allessandria has always dreamed of becoming a star.

She has enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity over the past 12 months.

Rhydian rose to fame after finishing runner-up on The X-Factor in 2007.

Of his four albums, the first went platinum, and the second included collaborations with Kiri te Kanawa and Bryn Terfel. The third, Waves, marked a shift in style from opera to pop, and Caneuon Cymraeg, Welsh songs, was released to tie in with his debut television series for the Welsh-language channel S4C.

Tickets are available from the box office on 0151 907 8360 or online at thebrindley.org.uk.
