A SEXUAL health and relationships advice service for young people in Halton has been shortlisted for a national award.

Young Addaction, which provides targeted and early interventions to 10 to 19-year-olds, was a finalist in the young people’s sexual health service or project of the year category at the UK Sexual Health Awards 2014.

Teenagers from Halton attended the event in central London last Friday, where top comic, novelist and actor Jenny Eclair presented the awards.

Judges praised their work saying: “Young Addaction Halton is a great example of an organisation recognising the importance of sexual health for its client group and taking learning from existing practice and applying it to an existing client group.

“There are clearly a lot of great individual projects taking place across Halton and there is good evidence of YAH’s support for volunteers.”

A project in Sheffield won the award.
