A man has been airlifted to hospital in a "serious condition" after being crushed between two vehicles on an industrial site.
Police confirmed the man was hurt at the Tesco distribution centre in Desoto Road, Widnes, just after 7.30am today.
Officers said the victim, who has not been named, was taken to Aintree Hospital "in a serious condition".
North West Ambulance Service said the man, thought to be in his 50s, had suspected "crush injuries" to his chest.
It sent a rapid response vehicle and an advanced paramedic to the scene.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "At 7.30am today police were called to following reports that a man had sustained injuries following an incident at the site.
"Initial reports into the circumstances of the incident suggest the man was trapped between two vehicles at the site.
"The man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition."
A North West Air Ambulance landed at the scene, which caused some congestion in the area.
The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the accident, but the incident is a matter for Halton Council's health and safety team, as the site is a distribution centre, not a factory.
