A DEDICATED fundraiser has presented £1,450 to Halton Haven Hospice to celebrate her 70th birthday.
Barbara Spruce from Widnes asked her family and friends to donate money to the charity instead of gifts at her special party.
She has been supporting the cancer centre through her line dancing for the past 14 years but has had a closer relationship with staff since her husband, Tommy, died at the hospice in 2009.
Jan Gray, family support Mmanager was delighted to accept the donation.
She said: “The money raised will be split between the hospice and the family support service who supported Barbara and her family through such a difficult time.
“The money will be used to purchase children’s and adult books for our counselling service.”
