A MAN was threatened with a wheel brace and robbed outside the post office in Hale Village.

Detectives today appealed for witnesses.

The 56-year-old victim was about to deposit a large sum of cash when he was approached by two men.

The offenders snatched the money from his hands and fled in a black BMW which was waiting nearby. The vehicle was later recovered a short distance away in a residential area of Speke.

The first man, who was carrying the wheel brace, is described as white and between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall. He was wearing a hooded top with the hood up, a black woollen scarf covering his face and dark trousers. He spoke with a Liverpool accent.

The second man is described as white and was wearing dark clothing.

The victim was not injured.

The incident happened at about 9.30am on Friday, March 7.
