FIRE cadets in Runcorn are raising funds by staging a charity car wash.

Motorists are invited to bring their cars to the fire station in Heath Road on Saturday, March 15, from 10am to 4pm.

The event will help to launch Inglefield sponsored charity bike ride and sports day.

Cadet instructor Andy Hughes said: "The charity car wash is a great way to raise money for the cadets. It is an enjoyable way to spend the day.

“The young people learn team working and they are meeting the public. They are a great group to work with and I know they want to make this a success so they can go on to make a sucess of the Inglefield event.”

Runcorn Fire Cadets meet at the Fire Station on Heath Road every Wednesday evening.

The group for 13-17-year-olds gets involved with community projects, fire drills, first aid and Duke of Edinburgh awards. They raise money for national and local charities.
