STORIES sprang to life across Halton as children dressed up as their favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day.
Teachers and toddlers at Warrington Road Nursery School in Naylor Road, Widnes, came in all sorts of colourful costumes.
Princesses joined superman, batman, pirates, witches and an array of animals for a fun-filled activity day.
Head teacher Amanda Brown said: “We aim to foster a love of books in all children. Book day allows us to have fun dressing up alongside talking about characters, what happens in stories, and encouraging children to retell their favourite stories too.
“All the children were given a voucher which allows them to swap it for a book in the local shops.”
