Block ARTS and crafts enthusiast has inspired her neighbours to discover hidden talents.

Mum-of-four Carole Duffy moved to Runcorn in September and was keen to make new friends.

She decided to set up a craft group and it has really taken off.

Carole, aged 57, from Sandymoor, said: “We all meet up and do our own crafts, sewing, knitting, cross stitch, card making.

“We bring our own crafts and show each other how to do things.”

Carole, an activity co-ordinator at a care home, had lived in the Wirral for 50 years.

She added: “I moved to Sandymoor to be with my partner. I didn’t know anyone.

“We now meet every week and have such a laugh. We’ve all bonded well together. People do lots of different things.

“We’re always looking for new members.”

Carole who has a photography degree and enjoys machine embroidery, shares space at Hazlehurst Craft Studio in Runcorn’s High Street.

The group meets at Sandymoor Community Hall, Otterburn Street, every Thursday evening.
