A TEENAGE girl was indecently assaulted in Widnes yesterday.
The 17-year-old was walking along Cross Street when whe was approached by a man. He grabbed her inappropriately, smiled and walked away.
Widnes Police are appealing for witnesses and warn women to be vigilant.
Sgt Neil Edgar said: "I would like to reassure the public that extra police and support officers will be patrolling the area.
"We would advise residents to remain vigilant and take basic precautions such as not going to isolated areas alone, keeping to well lit areas and reporting any suspicious activity to police.”
The assault happened between 5pm and 5.30pm on Monday, March 3.
The offender is described as white, slightly tanned, in his late 30s, around 5ft 10ins tall. He had golden coloured hair and was possibly wearing a cream top.
