A SCIENTIFIC talk about solar energy is being held in Widnes.

Dr Alex Cowan from the Stephenson Institute for Renewable Energy, University of Liverpool will explain ‘Artificial photosynthesis – the production of solar fuels’.

Solar Energy provides more energy to the earth in 1 hour than we consume in a year, however it is an intermittent resource. This talk will explore the science behind the production of solar fuels, from carbon dioxide and water feedstocks, which can be readily stored and transported for use when required.

The talk takes place on Wednesday, March 12, at 7.30pm at the Hillcrest Hotel, Cronton Lane WA8 9AR.

It is the latest in a series of Widnes SciBar events presented by Friends of Catalyst & the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre.

All are welcome.
