A ONE stop shop event is being organised for parents and carers with children who have additional needs.

Halton Council is hosting the transition showcase on Wednesday, March,12, at Widnes Masonic Hall, Kingsway from 9am to 3pm.

Halton Clr Ged Philbin, executive board member for children, young people and families, said: "There is so much on offer for young people with additional needs in Halton. It promises to be an interactive and informative day. "

The event will bring together young people, parents, carers, schools and services to showcase innovative approaches to transition at key stages , such as changing schools or going on to further education.

There will be a mix of presentations and workshops, all with an upbeat message about what help is out there to inform, guide and support.

Stalls and stands will be open at lunchtime in the CRMZ youth centre next door, offering up-to-date information on many of the services available to help young people.
