LIBRARIES across Halton will be celebrating National Bookstart Week in June.

Following from last year’s celebration of fairy tales, the theme will be ‘My Hero’.

Children will be invited to get dresed up as their hero and take part in a series of special themed rhymetimes.

Parents will be encouraged to read with their sons and daughters every day.

The events, activities and resources will help families to see the benefits of reading together every day, while engaging them with the fun theme of ‘My Hero’.

From superheroes and story characters to parents and nurses, a child’s hero could be anyone.

Halton Council runs Rhymetimes in Ditton Library every Wednesday from 10.30am to 11.30am, Halton Lea Library every Thursday from 11am to 11.45am, Runcorn Library every Friday from 11am to 11.45am and Widnes Library every Friday from 11am to 11.45am.
