HALTON residents are being warned that Tesco has discovered milk chocolate in some of their gluten-free digestive biscuits.

Halton Trading Standards says that Tesco has found that its ‘free from gluten’ digestive biscuit packs in 170g size, with a best before date of September 2014, may contain milk chocolate.

A spokesman for Halton Trading Standards said:”This means that the presence of milk and soya is not declared on the label, making it unsuitable for anyone who is intolerant or allergic to milk or soya.

“If you have purchased this product with the above best before date, it should not be consumed by anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or soya.

“For a full refund please return the affected product to your local store.”

No other Tesco product is affected by this problem.
