THE Daleks are proving as popular as ever, 50 years after they were created.
Children were enthralled to meet the famous science fiction character at Widnes Library yesterday.
Halton Council hosted a special Day of the Daleks to exterminate boredom during half term.
The event was organised by young people who belong to Halton Libraries Reading Activists Group.
Youngsters were invited to come along dressed as their favourite Dr Who character and celebrate the famous time traveller’s escapades.
There was fun for all ages with crafts and quizzes to test their sci-fi knowledge.
The Dalek was made by Nigel Parkes, the man inside it, when it visited Widnes Library.
