HALTON primary schoolchildren enjoyed competing in a mixed hockey competition at Bankfield School.
Karen Drake, Halton school games organiser, said: “The competition was delivered in round robin format so all schools played each other.
"The importance of fair play, fun and enjoyment was highlighted to all taking part.
“There were some really close matches and all children participating developed and improved their hockey skills through the competition.
“Bankfield School sports leaders did a great job gaining experience in umpiring the matches.”
Year five and six pupils took part.
The overall winners were St Basils C team. Windmill Hill were runners up.
Schools taking part included two teams from Spinney Avenue, three teams from St Basil’s, and Castle View, Windmill Hill and Moorfield who were competing for the first time.
Certificates were presented to everyone who took part. The winners and runners up received a trophy.
