A 38-YEAR-OLD has been released on bail after being arrested following the death of a cyclist on Tuesday.
The man, from Great Sankey, was released on Wednesday. He has been arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A post mortem examination has revealed that 47-year-old cyclist Terry Brown, also from Great Sankey, died as a result of a head injury.
The keen cyclist, a member of the North Cheshire Clarion Club, was found injured in Warrington Road, Bold Heath, near Widnes at 6.40am on Tuesday following a hit-and-run.
An investigation by Merseyside Police's roads policing department and St Helens CID remains ongoing.
