ENTHUSIASTIC Runcorn children have been exploring the birthplace of western civilisation - 2,500 years ago.
Pupils at Victoria Road Primary School have been exploring ancient Greece.
They were challenged to make a design or carry out some research as a homework project.
They had to create something original and were not allowed to use the internet.
Their unique 3D models were so impressive, they have been put on display in a Greek gallery at the school.
Greek music was played as guests were served refreshments.
Head teacher Sue Taylor said: “They have come up with really imaginative ideas, it’s amazing.
“They used all sorts of materials. Everything is homemade.
“Children worked with their parents and grandparents. It was a great collaborative effort. I don’t know who enjoyed themselves more.
“They have made parthenons, suits of armour, monsters, games and booklets.
“Parents have said it has really got their children thinking and learning.”
The models were created by pupils in years three, four, five and six.
