A RUNCORN man is running in the London Marathon and hopes to raise £1,800 for the homeless.

Sean Lloyd, aged 26, is supporting the charity Shelter and has already received £500 in sponsorship.

He is now busy training for the 26-mile trek round the capital on Sunday, April 13.

Former Heath pupil, Sean, of Old Coach Road in the old town, saiod: “Homelessness is an issue I’ve always felt quite strongly about.

“I read that 80,000 children were homeless before Christmas. For a modern, western country, that is just shocking.”

Sean, who works for Teva, a pharmaceutical company in Preston Brook, completed the Manchester Marathon and Liverpool Half Marathon last year.

Shelter works to alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and bad housing. The charity helps people find and keep a home and campaigns for decent housing for everyone.
