A STATE-OF-THE-ART gym opens in Runcorn tomorrow, creating 15 new local jobs.

PureGym is moving into the former Dreams bed store beside Homebase at Bridge Retail Park, on Thomas Jones Way.

Customers won’t be tied in to a membership contract and can use the gym at any time as it will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The company, which has more than 50 outlets across the country, hopes to expand into Widnes.

PureGym Runcorn general manager, Caroline Johnson, aged 41, said: “PureGym Runcorn will provide local residents with a fully equipped gym that offers not only exceptional value for money at an affordable price, but membership without a contract that ties you in for a long period of time.”

To guarantee the pre-opening price of £9.99 per month with a £15 joining fee, those interested must register before 4pm on Thursday, January 30.

The 14,953 sq ft gym has 220 pieces of the latest equipment to cover everyone’s fitness requirements as well as more than 40 free classes per week.

Specialist sessions in Zumba and the new South African dance class Bokwa will also be available.

There are also functional training zones with kettlebells, power plate and TRX suspension trainers.
