POLICE have traced a second man they wanted to speak to in connection with a serious assault in Widnes town centre.
A 49-year-old victim was left unconscious with a fractured eye socket and broken nose after an attack near the Imperial pub.
Last week, CCTV images of a man police wanted to speak to in relation to an incident, which took place in the early hours of December 22 in Albert Road at the junction of Robert Street near to the Imperial Pub, were issued.
A 35-year-old man has now been traced. He was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
A 39-year-old man had been arrested earlier in connection with the incident and bailed pending further enquiries.
