CHILD Bereavement UK is looking for volunteers to help young people at its new office in Runcorn old town.

The service will offer support for bereaved children and young people up the age of 25.

Barry Lyonett, bereavement services lead leader, said:“Our aim is to make a real difference by offering a comprehensive bereavement support service that meets the needs of all grieving children, young people and families in Runcorn and the surrounding area.

“We aim to provide appropriate support at a time when it is needed for as long as it is needed.

“Our services will be provided free of charge.”

The charity is recruiting volunteers to help with its support groups for children and young people, which will start in September, 2014. Training will be given.

They are also looking for people willing to do reception, office admin and welcome bereaved families.

Ann Rowland, Child Bereavement UK director of bereavement services, said: “Establishing a bereavement service in Runcorn is an important part of the charity’s strategy to plug gaps in areas where little or no child bereavement support is available.”
