A CHARITY prom fair is being held in aid of Halton Haven.

Runcorn fashion designer Natalie Fitzmaurice and Widnes florist Paula Forbes are teaming up with local businesses to stage the event.

Local schoolgirls will join professionals on the catwalk at The Hillcrest Hotel, Cronton Lane, Widnes, on Sunday, February 23, from 12 noon to 3pm.

Natalie, aged 29, from Beechwood, said: “We’ve all had people close to us who have been helped by the hospice. My husband’s grandad was in there. The staff are absolutely superb. I have heard so many lovely stories about the place.

“The fair will be a fun event to give girls lots of ideas.”

Natalie is expanding her business, Love Frocks, and recently moved from The Heath Business Park to High Street, Frodsham.

She said: “I just love making dresses. Every year we get busier.”

Paula, aged 38, from Hough Green, who runs About Flowers and Pins & Needles Haberdashery, said: “I personally want to support the hospice as they did a great job giving my late mother-in-law, Jackie Forbes, respite during her final years.

“I have seen first hand how their services give help and support to families when they are going through what are their hardest times and this is invaluable.”

Admission fee of £1 will be donated to the hospice and a raffle will also be held.

Stands are still available for local business. Anyone interested  can call 0151 424 7444 or 07875 731869.

The prom fashion show takes place at 1.30pm but people are advised to arrive early as there was standing room only at last year's event.
