A PENSIONER has been left heartbroken after losing a precious earring in Widnes town centre.
Joan Kelly, aged 70, received the gold jewellery as a ruby wedding gift from her husband, John, aged 76.
She is offering a £20 reward to anyone who finds it.
Joan, of Radnor Drive, said: “I’m heartbroken. It’s of no use or value to anyone else but it is of great sentimental value to me.
“I’ve been into the jewellers and they say they don’t make them like that anymore.”
She said she went into lots of shops including Morrisons, B&Q and Quality Save in Albert Road, but only noticed her earring was missing when she got home.
The big chunky gold earring is an inch wide in diameter and has two circular gold bands on the back and a design that looks like three bananas on the front.
Anyone who finds it can call Joan on 0151 423 2219.
