A GIFTED Widnes singer says she is ‘living the dream’ after landing a top role in the West End musical comedy, Tonight’s The Night.
Talented Amy Diamond, aged 26, is performing at the Manchester Palace Theatre from January 20-25 and at the Liverpool Empire from Jan 27 to Feb 1.
The show, inspired by the songs of Rod Stewart, is set in Detroit and the glamorous clubs of Los Angeles.
Amy, from Upton Rocks, said: “It is amazing. I am really excited.
“I play Elsie, part of Rod Stewart’s massage hot legs team.
“It is a fantastic show.”
She also covers the main role of Satan and baby Jane when the lead is not available.
Former SS Peter & Paul Catholic College pupil, Amy got through to the final of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BBCTV show, Over The Rainbow, searching for Dorothy.
Amy added: “I feel so lucky to be working in the theatre, living the dream. It is massively competitive. Sometimes 200 girls go for one job.
“I have such a supportive family, I couldn’t have done it without my parents. They keep me grounded. My mum’s packed lunches are keeping me going.”
She said her parents, Margaret and Fred, have always encouraged her to fulfil her ambition.
