THIEVES stole a quantity of equipment from a Widnes business.

The break-in happened at Lawson Diesel Engineering on Victoria Trading Estate in Croft Street.

Offenders forced open a steel container in the yard and stole various items including cylinder heads, motorcycles and lawnmowers An investigation has been launched in a bid to trace those responsible and to locate the stolen items.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information in relation to the burglary to come forward − officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have any information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen items.

The incident is believed to have taken place between 9pm on Thursday, December 19 and 8.30am on Friday, December 20.

The missing items included 20 cylinder heads in varying sizes for all types of vehicles, two Honda Montessa trial bike motorcycles in red with modified 350cc engines, one Montessa trial motorcycle in red with 350cc engine, a Ranson green antique awnmower with a 4 stroke petrol engine and a Villiers green antique lawnmower with a 2 stroke petrol engine.
