BIG-HEARTED shoppers in Widnes have donated more than £3,000 over Christmas to help local cancer sufferers.
Collections at Morrisons, Asda and Widnes Market raised £3,061.74.
Linda Shard, chairperson of The Marie Curie Widnes Support Group, said "It always amazes me at the kindness and generosity of people who are so willing to give to our charity at this time of year.
“It is not always an easy time for some people and the fact that they contribute so much is fantastic.
“The funds that we raise help provide one-to-one nursing care for terminally ill people in their own home."
