BIG-HEARTED Runcorn teenagers treated residents to a freshly prepared Christmas meal.

Halton Young Women’s Group cooked the festive meal for members of Grangeway Community Forum to thank them for all their support.

They spent two days planning their feast of homemade vegetable soup, roast turkey, chocolate cake and cheese and crackers.

The group meets at HRMZ youth club every Thursday and is grateful to the forum for helping them secure funding for lights for a multi-use games area. They are now putting in a bid with other partners to replace the fences.

This will ensure that the young people can enjoy sport activities safely and protect the new buildings that surround the youth club.

After the meal, forum members presented the young women with chocolates and a card to thank them for their hospitality.

Halton Clr Ged Philbin, board member for young people, children and families, said: "The effort these young people have put in is a credit to them and their families."

Halton Young Women's Group is organised by Catch-22 on behalf of Halton’s Children’s Trust and Halton Council as part of an on-going commitment to improve opportunities for all children and young people living in the borough.
