ENTHUSIASTIC youngsters dressed up as Santa for the day to serve mince pies and hot drinks to customers at the Catch cafe in West Bank, Widnes.

The four girls raised £125.05 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Baby Unit.

Youth worker Laurence McCarvell said: “All the young people who took part in the event are a credit to themselves and also their communities, giving up their free time to raise money for the babies of Alder Hey Hospital."

Young people involved on the day included Megan Wallace, Chloe Bamber, Bethany O'Raw, Clare Chattern, Amber Morgan, Jess Swales, Kelsea Morris, Amber Forshaw, and Leah Hollaran.

The event was organised by Catch Café and Westbank Youth Club Catch-22 on behalf of Halton’s Children’s Trust and Halton Council as part of an ongoing commitment to improve opportunities for all children and young people living in the borough.
