WADE Deacon High School has officially opened its new look building following a £25 million refurbishment.
Principal architect, Alex Solk from Sheppard Robson Architects presented chairman of governors John Woodroofe with a ceremonial key.
This echoed the proceedings of the original opening ceremony in September 1931.
Unveiling a commemorative plaque, Mr Woodroofe said: “Our young people only get one chance of a good education and we are committed to ensuring that at Wade Deacon, our students receive the very best and achieve more than they ever dreamed possible.”
Guests included representatives from all sectors of education as well as Halton Council officers, former teachers, members of the community and representatives from the school’s builders, Vinci Young musicians entertained visitors with piano recitals and a string ensemble.
A buffet and reception was provided by year 10 food technology students.
