A SOCIAL afternoon gave housebound people the chance to get together for a chat and a cuppa.
Jim McGenity, aged 92, from Cronton said he and his 87-year-old wife, Eileen thoroughly enjoyed it.
He said: “it was the first time my wife and myself have been out for 12 months, apart from to the hospital. It was a very nice afternoon.”
Around 30 people attended the afternoon tea which was organised by Victoria Care in the Community, who provide carers across Halton.
Care worker Gail Hunter said: “Everyone absolutely loved it. We had a singer, Elvis, who cheered them up no end and raffles so everyone went home with something.
“It went so well, we hope to run some more.”
Organisers would like to say a big thank you to Farnworth Sports & Social Club who kindly hosted the get-together.
