CHESHIRE Dogs Home is holding its annual animal blessing service at 3pm on Sunday, December 15 at 3pm.

Local animal lovers and their pets are invited to come along to pay a collective tribute to the non-humans that share, or have shared, their lives.

People honouring larger animals, or those not able to attend, can of course bring a photo if they wish.

Led by Hazel Bradley, there will be readings, music and also the chance to dedicate a tag to a loved animal on the Dogs’ Home’s memorial tree.

Anna Stanfield, manager at the home, said: “Our animal blessing is a lovely opportunity to honour the animals we love or have loved.

“In the run-up to Christmas, family is first and foremost in many people’s minds and it’s good to acknowledge the huge role that companion animals often play in families.”

Cheshire Dogs’ Home is at 225 Knutsford Road, near Grappenhall.
