EXCITED children held a festive fundraising day today for courageous Ben Allen who is battling cancer.

Pupils at Cronton CE Primary School had a Christmas themed own clothes day and dressed up as little Santas.

All the money raise is being donated to six-year-old pupil Ben who has aculte lymphoblastic leukaemia.

He is currently undergoing three years of chemotherapy at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

His mum, Mel, from Hough Green, said: “We haven’t decided how to spend it but some will be going to charity.”

Pupils and teachers pledged to do something for Ben after theives stole his bike.

A charity called Cyclists Fighting Cancer bought him a mountain bike to help him regain the strength in his legs, damaged by the cancer drugs.

Runcorn cancer survivor Richard Wilding, aged 41, from Sandymoor has offered to donate Ben a replacement bike.

Keen cyclist Richard, who was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2010, is opening his dream bike shop, Wild Bikes, in Stockton Heath tomorrow.
