A MUCH-LOVED nursery school assistant received a surprise treat.

Mum-of-two Linda Almond was presented with flowers and gifts to celebrate 25 years service’ as a senior pre-school assistant at Weston Point Pre School.

Christina Worrall, chairman of the pre school committee, said: “It was really emotional. She absolutely loved it.

“She worked as a volunteer for two years before she became a paid employee.

“Linda works really well with the children. It’s brilliant to see how much they come on in their development.

“She is my daughter’s key worker. You can go to her with any problems. She does so much work with the children.

“The head teacher of Weston Point Primary School said that they value the pre-school being on the same site as it helps the children into school.

“Being here from the age of two is a big bonus. We’re like one big family.”
