HUNDREDS of Santas will run over the Runcorn Widnes bridge on Sunday in a fun-filled charity event.

Runners raised £12,000 for Halton Haven Hospice last year.

There is still time to enter.

Ciaran Clotworthy, hospice events manager, said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s Santa Dash.

“Last year we had over 600 Santas taking part and everyone agreed the atmosphere was fantastic.

“We’re joining forces with Halton Council again to put on this unique event and we’re asking for the support of the local community once more to come down and support us. They never let us down.”

The Silver Jubilee bridge will be closed at 9am on Sunday, December 8 as the runners cross from Spike Island to Runcorn.

Anthony’s Travel is providing a free coach to ferry the Santas back to Widnes.

Entry fee is £20 for adults and £10 for nine to 15-year-olds.

Registration includes a Santa suit and a medal on completion.

To register visit havensantadash.yolasite.com or call 01928 712728. Santa suits can be collected from Halton Haven shops or hospice reception. They can also be picked up on the morning of the event.
