Halton residents warned to beware of bogus callers
HALTON residents are being warned to watch out for bogus callers appealing for church donations.
Halton Trading Standards says that a local resident received a phone call supposedly from her local church asking for donations for a new project.
When she contacted the church the following day, they said that the call had nothing to do with them.
Trading Standards is suggesting that people think twice before giving their personal details to anybody who cold calls them, especially if they are not able to confirm their identity at the time.
