Halton's free firework display goes stateside
HALTON’S spectacular free fireworks display is going stateside.
The riverside show at 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 5 will have an American makeover to celebrate the arrival of the USA rugby league team.
More than 60,000 spectators watched last year’s event.
Halton Cllr Eddie Jones, board member for tourism, said: "Our two towns will be brought together in a dazzling display to rival anything you would find in the north west, all set to the backdrop of the iconic Silver Jubilee Bridge.
"So why not leave the sparklers at home and come and enjoy a safe and free show, guaranteed not to disappoint.
“The USA Tomahawks will be our special guests on the night, so watch from the ‘sidewalk’ as Hollywood comes to Halton.”
An American inspired soundtrack has been synchronised to a dazzling fireworks show which promises to bring all the glitz and glamour from across the pond to the River Mersey.
Both viewing areas at Mersey Road, Runcorn and Victoria Promenade, West Bank, Widnes will be decorated in honour of our visitors, the USA Tomahawks, competing in the Rugby League World Cup.
Local acts will get the chance to perform in both towns as the entertainment starts at 6.30pm.
Parking for spectators will be in town centre car parks in Runcorn and Catalyst Museum car park and adjoining industrial estate in Widnes.
